Dear Reader
Is your plant running at "ZERO un-planned STOPS"?
On the back of the 2011 PAMTL conference theme of Sustainability through Physical Asset Management, Pragma will launch an initiative to start driving "ZERO un-planned STOPS" in the industry. This is an initiative that will require a lot of focus to eliminate the small jackals that cause operations to run far below their optimum. "Let's start doing the right things religiously to ensure sustained performance and reliability of assets," says our CEO Adriaan Scheeres.
This newsletter contains a number of interesting articles ranging from the Pragma Client Awards and Pragma's Brand Ambassador to the formal Student Holiday programme that was launched in Cape Town.
We welcome some new clients on board and invite clients and interested parties to attend our annual Regional Client Days in October.
PAS 55 is an increasingly hot topic and Pragma has done some research to understand the impact it will have on industry. In support of this, Alan Tait, (MD of Pragma Africa) and President of SAAMA , will attend a work session in the US where the future of PAS 55 and the conversion into an ISO standard (ISO 55000) will be discussed. We will keep a close eye on the progress of ISO 55000 and Alan will give thorough feedback on the latest developments at the Client Days.
When you feel that your efforts are falling in to a bottomless pit, follow the advice of Frank Capra - "Don't follow trends - start trends." Let your every action on the plant contribute towards reliability, cost savings and risk reduction and start a trend of "ZERO un-planned STOPS".
Enjoy the read and keep warm.
