  • The Schedulers Learning Pathway for engineering planners, planner assistants, schedulers and supervisors also introduces the learner to the asset register and basic planning concepts.
  • The Managers and Planners Learning Pathway is for engineering planners and maintenance managers looking to fully understand what On Key offers from a configuration and transactional point of view. This learning pathway covers the full scope of planning, scheduling and daily allocation.

Getting Started

In this course you will learn how to log in to On Key and how to use the On Key Help File. You will also become familiar with the On Key user interface and will discover the various tools and items that are available and how to use them.

This module focuses on basic configuration regarding master data that is required in order to execute the building of asset registers, asset type trees, etc. It looks at the shared configuration of the system in terms of site, site types, documents and user configuration.

This module focuses on basic configuration of the building of asset registers, asset type trees, etc. It encompasses principles of assets and asset types as well as providing detailed simulations of creation of assets, asset types, component and the synchronisation and development process.

This module incorporates the basic ways in which data can be extrapolated and viewed based on the different requirements of certain users. It looks at the concepts of profiles, charts and tab orders in On Key.

On Key Time Loss Configuration

This module focuses on the various time loss categories, types and reasons that can be configured in On Key. It deals with time losses in regard to work order downtimes which can be classified as availability, utilisation or performance losses.

On Key Unscheduled Work Orders

This module focuses on how to execute transactions in On Key regarding work that needs to be done on equipment. It enables the user to understand the difference between a work request and a work order as well as to create work orders and work requests in On Key.

This module focuses on how work orders should be validated. It is derived from best practices and shows you the basic understanding from an On Key perspective the process which work orders follow. Planning is a crucial function of all engineering departments. This module gives a brief overview of planning in general and then focuses on the generation and creation of scheduled maintenance activities in On Key and the prioritizing and confirmation of work to be executed.

This module gives a brief overview of scheduling in principle and how to schedule work orders in On Key. It explores the functionality of scheduling events, manual scheduling and automatic scheduling.

Daily allocation is the final step in the planning and scheduling process. This course is an overview of the daily allocation phase. It discusses some daily allocation concepts and shows how to perform the steps to allocate work task labour items to staff members.

Online Contact Session

Online contact sessions are scheduled in advance, according to set calendar dates, and allow learners an opportunity to engage with a facilitator and peers to discuss key learning concepts.

The courses are delivered in a blended approach using eLearning, discussion forums and virtual instructor led training (VILT). The VILT sessions are led by a subject matter expert and allow learners to ask detailed questions and get insights into how these practices can work in their environment.
